Walk to school day!

Today was National walk to school day. Ames was a little far for us :) We all met at the park in Okeene and walked 8 blocks to school. Weather was perfect!

Computers & Technology

Computers can be a real pain in the rear sometimes but then there are those times that technology blows my mind.

When I left South Africa in 1989 it wasn't long before I lost touch with many wonderful people. Life tends to get in the way and we move on. Fast forward to 2009 and Facebook enters the picture and a little light bulb goes off...."I wonder if I can find anyone I know from SA on Facebook?" Guess what? I did! I found one of my host sisters and am have sent messages to several other classmates.

I'm so excited to be able to reconnect with old friends!

I was asked to do a presentation for the 1st grade class on my travels to South Africa, needless to say it took me all weekend just to find the box I had everything stored in. Here is one of my host families on their dairy farm. If I remember right the last name was Gowar.

Turkey Hunters

Anna and Dad had a great time Turkey hunting this weekend. They were able to get this smaller tom that had 2 beards. He is now chilling in the freezer :)
